These solutions have helped scientists better understand the nature of our cosmos, as well develop theories about the relationships between space and time. Now two physicists at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, have developed a new family of solutions to Einstein’s equations — in five dimensions.

None of the current ATI or NVIDIA graphics cards will support the full capabilities of Windows Vista. You want to know a secret? None of the current ATI or NVIDIA graphics cards will support the full capabilities of Windows Vista, HDCP.
If you want to watch movies at 1980x1080, your system will need to support HDCP. If you don’t have HDCP support, you’ll only get a quarter of the resolution. A 75% loss in pixel density is a pretty big deal.

Rats replay their actions backwards A new study suggests that the times when we sit around twiddling our thumbs could in fact be vital for learning.
The idea stems from experiments in which neuroscientists eavesdropped on the brains of rats as they explored their environments. They found that the rats' brains 'replay' their experiences in reverse when the animals pause briefly to rest.

NVIDIA Launches GoForce 5500 NVIDIA today has announced a new addition to its GoForce family of mobility GPUs called the GoForce 5500. Aimed squarely at gamers on the move, the GoForce 5500 brings advanced features that were previously unavailable to the handheld market. Besting even ATI's top Imageon processors, the GoForce 5500 delivers features not found anywhere else.
The company says that with the GoForce 5500, gamers can experience Quake 3 equal to that of the original PlayStation and even display high-definition resolution (1024x768) on a device such as a cell phone. Considering that most mainstream phones don't even produce resolutions over 320x240, this is an indication that future cell phones will be able to produce images and quality equal to or better than that of Sony's PSP.

Science slowly explaining evolution detail Scientists say they are starting to understand the details of evolution and, in doing so, they're solving the riddles on which intelligent design is based.
Intelligent design posits Charles Darwin's theory of evolution is wrong; life is so complex only an intelligent entity, God, could have produced it. Although scientific research is not conducted as a response to intelligent design, it is unraveling the very riddles that ID proponents say could not be solved, The Chicago Tribune reported Monday.

Tabletop nuclear fusion device developed Researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have developed a tabletop accelerator that produces nuclear fusion at room temperature, providing confirmation of an earlier experiment conducted at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), while offering substantial improvements over the original design.
The device, which uses two opposing crystals to generate a powerful electric field, could potentially lead to a portable, battery-operated neutron generator for a variety of applications, from non-destructive testing to detecting explosives and scanning luggage at airports.

Incredible Multi-Touch OS Demo
You always hear about "Wave of the future" technologies that will change the world, but when it's reveiled it's just simply hype.
This system being developed at NYU allows multiple points on a touch screen to be manipulated. Similar to the interface that was used in the movie Minority Report, but this actually looks usefull and it's real. Make sure you watch the whole video since several different applications are shown. When they say this will change everything they mean it. Link: | | Comments: 1 | Trackback: 0 | posted by neuroelectronic in Hax on Monday February 13 2006 - 11:54:38
