Internet could be split up by DNS control issue "We are firmly committed to a multi-stakeholder approach," he said. "We expect to evolve, we expect to keep changing. We are concerned about stability [of the internet] and we think it's best to evolve existing institutions. Our present corporate structure is a matter of history, not of any particular design."
But designing new structures is exactly what the international community seems intent on doing. At one end of the spectrum are Iran, Pakistan and other so-called control-oriented states that want to create a new governing council for the web to which Icann would be accountable. The remit of this council seems broad enough to include questions of content, a worry for advocates of free speech on the web.
Two week's ago the EU proposed its own structure, which consists of what it calls a "cooperation model" to deal with Icann and a forum which would allow governments, interested organisations and industry to discuss internet issues and swap best practice.
Blah blah blah... America created the internet everyone knows that, why should we give it up now? I don't understand why these other countries feel like they have a right to run the DNS servers. Perhaps they think the world economy is communist? Up until now every other country aggreed to join the internet which they knew was American. I guess W will be right when he said "internets." But wait, doesn't China already have it's own DNS system to keep their people dictatorsheep and communist? What's the big deal here?

Samsung to pay $300 million for price fixing The international conspiracy to fix memory prices uncovered in 2002 was real after all.
Samsung, the world's biggest memory maker, has agreed to pay $300 million and plead guilty for conspiring with others to fix prices on Dynamic Random Access Memory, or DRAM, the most common form of memory found in computers.
Hynix, another South Korean memory manufacturer, earlier pleaded guilty and paid a $185 million fine. Germany's Infineon Technologies also admitted to DRAM price fixing and paid a fine, although other defendants remain.

That article suggests it's not true, which I believe personaly, but the rummors about Google's free wireless turned out to be true...

Sony PSP Runs Mac OS! Neisha Stadelhofer came up with a really twisted hack to run Mac OS on a Sony PSP. She's running vMac under PSPBochs - in other words, a 680x0 emulator running under an x86 emulator. Of course, it's just as slow as you would expect - it takes 4 hours to boot! 92 Percent Of Souls In Hell There On Drug Charges "A report released Monday by the Afterlife Civil Liberties Union indicates that nine out of 10 souls currently serving in Hell were condemned on drug-related sins.
"Hell was created to keep dangerous sinners off the gold-paved streets of Heaven," ACLU spokesman Barry Horowitz said. "But lately, it's become a clearing-house for the non-evil souls that Heaven doesn't know how to deal with."
