U.S. millionaire departs space station

"The seven-day space sojourn of a U.S. millionaire scientist came to a close as he and a two-man Russian-American crew undocked early Tuesday from the international space station and began speeding back to Earth.

The ride back in the Russian Soyuz capsule is likely to be an exciting conclusion to Gregory Olsen’s space station visit — the third trip by a private citizen. The Soyuz is to make a beeline home, covering the approximately 250 miles from the station to Earth in just 3 1/2 hours."

Intel unveils first dual-core Xeon chip

On Monday Intel unveiled its first microprocessors for server computers that put two cores, or processors, on a single chip, aiming to close a gap with smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

The world's largest semiconductor maker said the dual-core Xeon processor, code-named Paxville, runs at 2.80 gigahertz and will cost $1,043 each in bulk quantities.

Originally, Intel, of Santa Clara, California, had not planned to introduce a dual-core Xeon until 2006. But in August, it said development of the chip was ahead of schedule and that the debut would be in the second half of this year.

Odd way of getting out of a date huh? But a Kentucky woman is now charged with lying about being kidnapped, raped, shot and stabbed - just so she wouldn't have to meet her Internet boyfriend and his mother.

Squirrels on Crack

Squirrels are hyper enough without an addiction to crack cocaine. But in NY and DC, there is a growing epidemic of squirrels who have found stashes hidden in gardens and under rocks. The squirrels have attacked park visitors in their frenzied search for their next fix. Even wild squirrels have been known to attack humans. They have large sharp claws and are fast and will climb you like a tree. If you think squirrels taking food from your hand is cute, wait until you have a run-in with one of these. Imagine what a cracked up squirrel would do to grandma.

The Ultimate In-wall Loudspeaker (TCP/IP)

"Polk Audio LCi-IP Ultra High Performance In-Wall/ In-Ceiling Loudspeakers are the world's first active Internet Protocol-ready Loudspeakers. They were created for IP networked systems such as the ground-breaking NetStreams DigiLinx system but also provide vast convenience and performance benefits when used in analog systems. Integrated digital amplifiers eliminate remote amplifiers connected via hundreds of feet of lossy,
performance-robbing speaker wires. The performance benefits of local amplification are nothing short of stunning. The built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and supplied Room Correction Software program enable every LCi-IP speaker to be optimized for maximum performance in any room. What's more, the LCi-IP series already comes with an award-winning reputation, because they use the same driver technologies as Polk Audio's award winning high-end LSi Series"
